Despite many decades of progress, women still earn less than men in the United States. According to the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2010 women’s earnings were 81 percent of men’s. Massachusetts mirrors the national trend.

Transportation Bond Bill Passes Senate
BOSTON – The Senate on Thursday passed legislation that will provide funding to continue current transportation-related projects through Fiscal Year 2013, Senator Katherine Clark announced.
“This critical investment in state road, bridge and rail transportation projects is important for our continued economic recovery, and the Chapter 90 funds will provide for much needed repairs to local roads throughout our district and the state,” said Senator Katherine Clark (D-Melrose), Senate chair of the Joint Committee on Revenue.… [more]
